The ANCHOR Program is a program that is provided by the Town Of Hempstead and it is a year-round and life long program for children starting at the ages of 5 throughout their entire life. Although I can’t speak to this program first hand I have heard wonderful things about it. It must be great because they average a 2-3 year waiting list just to get into the program. The program has a day camp during the summer at Lido Beach, and after-school program (which includes: bowling, swimming, fitness, drama, and sports), and a Saturday Program. I do believe and don’t quote me on this but most of their services have no fees attached to them, but I believe you need to leave in the Town of Hempstead. I will confirm that for you. My son goes to Anchor. this will be hs 4th year. It is a wonderful program. I cant say enough about it.
